NEWS: OptaPro expands team in Asia

OptaPro has announced Ian Stewart to lead its operations in Asia. Based in Singapore, Ian will be responsible for OptaPro’s growing work in this region.

Already working with a number of Chinese Super League clubs and teams from across the continent, Ian will lead OptaPro’s activity as more teams look to use data to inform their analysis and recruitment strategies.

Ian brings a wealth of experience from the technology sector to his new role, including positions at Microsoft and Apple.

Ian’s expertise will be crucial as OptaPro continues to innovate and ensure that professional teams can maximise the impact of Opta data. Alongside this experience in the technology sector, Ian also holds coaching qualifications in both football and rugby.

OptaPro currently works with over 200 teams across football, rugby and cricket across the globe.

On joining OptaPro, Ian said: “This is an exciting time for Asian football. Teams from across the region are developing and we know there is a desire from these teams to ensure they have the best tools and resources to make more informed decisions in regards to both local and global recruitment.”
