NEWS: Devin Pleuler of Toronto FC to participate in Q&A at OptaPro Forum

Toronto FC Senior Manager of Analytics Devin Pleuler will participate in an on-stage Q&A session at the 2018 OptaPro Analytics Forum.

Hosted by OptaPro Analytics Forum founder and Perform VP of Marketing Simon Farrant, this OptaPro Forum-first will allow delegates to engage in detailed discussion with the Toronto FC analytics practitioner, exploring a host of topics at the core of the football analytics industry.

While questions from the room and beyond (questions can be submitted on Twitter through the #OptaProForum hashtag) will make up much of this session, areas of discussion will also revolve around the two-way relationships needed with coaching staff and what that looks like, techniques used to secure engagement and buy-in across a club, particular areas and where teams can learn from the wider industry and Devin’s own experiences at Toronto FC.

Devin is beginning his fourth season at Major League Soccer’s Toronto FC. In 2017, Toronto FC completed the first domestic treble in league history while equalling the regular season points record. Previously, Devin was a Data Scientist on the OptaPro team, working with clubs and federations across the world. Devin earned a B.S. in Computer Science at Wentworth Institute of Technology while also warming the bench as a goalkeeper for the school’s NCAA men’s side.

Speaking about the upcoming Forum, Devin said:

"The OptaPro Analytics Forum has established itself as the preeminent gathering of soccer analytics practitioners in the world and I'm looking forward to sharing my experiences with the rest of our community."
